Alta Verapaz is a very high region in the north of Guatemala.
In the south of Alta Verapaz is cold and high; the soil is made of rocks by the mountains. In the north the land gets close to Peténs flat land and the temperature is high.
There is not too much people in Alta Verapaz, maybe of theri rocky soil.
